OrthoJourney ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the OrthoJourney iOS application.

1. Information We Collect

  • Account information (e.g. Apple Sign-In)
  • Photos you capture for your weekly check-ins and the treatment details you enter (e.g. treatment type, start date)
  • Progress data generated from your check-ins (SmileScore, streaks, milestones, notes)
  • Usage and diagnostic data (interactions, crash reports)

2. How We Use Information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the app
  • Analyze your check-in photos to generate your SmileScore and personal progress notes
  • Send check-in and wear-time reminders you've enabled
  • Build your before & after, timelapse, and journey report

3. Data Storage

  • Your data and photos are securely stored using Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, and Storage).
  • We take reasonable measures to protect your data.
  • Your photos are private to your account and are not used to train third-party models.

4. Third-Party Services

  • Firebase (Google) — authentication, database, storage, analytics
  • OpenAI — analyzing check-in photos to generate your SmileScore and notes
  • RevenueCat — managing OrthoJourney+ subscriptions

These services may process data necessary to provide functionality.

5. Data Sharing

  • We do NOT sell your personal data.
  • We only share data with trusted services required to operate the app.

6. Your Rights

  • Request deletion of your account and data
  • Export your journey report at any time
  • Stop using the app at any time

7. Health & Medical Disclaimer

OrthoJourney is a personal progress companion, not a medical device. It does not provide diagnosis or treatment, and your SmileScore and insights are not a substitute for professional care.

8. Children's Privacy

OrthoJourney is not intended for children under 13. If a minor uses the app, it should be with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

9. Changes to Policy

We may update this policy. Continued use means acceptance.
